A Wassa based fetish priestess with the name Okomfobaa Nana Adwoa Ampofowaa has alleged that the founder and leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei popularly known as Kumchacha is a fetish priest not a man of God.
According to her, Kumchacha and other false prophets visit fetish priests all the time for spiritual powers and after getting what they want, they tend to throw jabs at them when they sit on radio and Television stations.
Okomfobaa Nana Adwoa Ampofowaa went on and challenged Kumchacha to come out and speak if her allegations are wrong. Also disclosed that Kumchahcha has never excluded himself from fetish priest’s meetings. Adding that there a lot of pastors are also involved in the act but pretend to be like saints when they go on air.
She therefore went on and entreated all traditional fetish priests in the country to come together and expose these false pastors who are taking people for granted.
Police were called to the England international’s west London home following a report of a woman feeling unwell
Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has been arrested on suspicion of rape following an alleged incident at his west London apartment.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement that both they and the London Ambulance Service were called in the early hours of Sunday, May 17 to a report of an unwell woman.
The statement added: “When emergency services attended, a woman reported that she was raped. She was taken to hospital. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of rape. He was released from custody and bailed to return on a date in mid-June. Enquiries continue.”
Sunday’s alleged incident comes just weeks after Hudson-Odoi battled the coronavirus, which he was diagnosed with on March 12.
The teenager was the first Premier League player to be diagnosed with the illness, coming shortly after news broke that Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta had contracted the virus, sending the Premier League towards its ongoing suspension.
In the days following his diagnosis, Hudson-Odoi announced that he had recovered from the symptoms and began a period of self-isolation, while all of Chelsea’s first-team squad isolated for two weeks with the club following government health guidelines.
By April 1, Hudson-Odoi had said that he felt “perfect”, having only experienced minor symptoms, while also following Chelsea’s train-from-home programme.
Hudson-Odoi said at the time: “I had the virus, which has cleared now. I fully feel good, I feel fit, so I am feeling back to myself so it is all good.
“I had it [the illness] three weeks ago now I think, on a Monday when I felt a bit hot and I was thinking, ‘this is a bit unusual, why do I feel this hot?’
“The next day I was feeling back to normal. I thought it was just a minor temperature thing, but obviously it wasn’t. I said to myself this wasn’t actually that bad, the symptoms, and I said to myself, ‘I feel good, I feel better.’
“Everything is happening so fast and I did not know this virus would be such a major thing and so big in the world and affect so many people. Everyone has to be careful and judge things how they go and hopefully the virus will go soon and everyone will be back to normal.”
Chelsea and the rest of the Premier League are awaiting confirmation on when the league can resume, with culture secretary Oliver Dowden stating that ‘good progress’ is being made towards restarting the season in mid-June.
Premier League clubs met on Monday to discuss the situation and agreed unanimously to step up training from Tuesday, after agreeing on medical protocols in a bid to shelter players from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Hudson-Odoi, however, is expected to initially miss Chelsea’s return to training on Wednesday after the arrest.
He will continue to train from home after the incident while others return to Cobham Training Centre due to being in contact with other members of the public and the UK authorities.
Chelsea have declined to comment on the allegations about their 19-year-old forward.
The Parents Teacher Association and School Management Committees have advised against the reopening of schools in the wake of a surge in COVID-19 cases in Ghana.
The groups at a stakeholder consultation pointed out that it would not be advisable to reopen schools now as lives of teachers, students and other school workers may be put at risk due to the difficulty in maintaining social distance at schools.
The recommendation was contained in a statement signed by the Executive Director of Africa Watch, Kofi Asare.
“In the midst of an increasing community spread, it is not advisable to consider reopening schools as lives of teachers, students and other school workers may be put at risk due to the difficulty in maintaining social distance at school and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene logistical constraints in schools. The GES should not advise the government to reopen schools now,” the statement said.
The groups recommended that the GES’ future decision to reopen schools must be “based on science with published convincing data in support and consensus by stakeholders, especially parents.”
The stakeholder online consultation was organised after the GES requested proposals for reopening of schools in the country.
Schools must be reopened if it’s safe
Teachers from the public schools have also asked the government to abort any possible plans of reopening schools.
Major (Rtd) Kwadwo Boakye-Djan has been questioned by officials of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service at his residence on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, for comments he made about the Electoral Commission (EC) on a radio programme.
The comments were made on an Accra-based radio station, Okay FM.
In the said interview, he said the rumpus surrounding the compilation of a new voters’ register could plunge Ghana into chaos.
Citi News sources indicated that Major Boakye-Djan failed to honour an earlier invitation by the police due to health issues.
Subsequently, police officers visited him for preliminary questioning.
According to the police, they chose to formally question him today at his home due to his health condition.
As part of the interrogation process, an audio recording of the interview where he made the said comment was played to him and his statement taken.
The EC has faced recent criticism for the barrage of attacks on the EC by mainly the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after it submitted a Constitutional Instrument (C.I) to Parliament to pass legislation that will make only the National Identification Card and the Ghana passport eligible for registration onto the voters’ register.
This has led to accusations that the National Identification Authority (NIA) and the EC are conspiring to rig the 2020 general elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The EC has also been under fire for its moves to compile a new electoral roll to complete new equipment it is purchasing for the conduct of the 2020 elections.

Parliament will later today [Tuesday, May 19, 2020] commence sittings for the second meeting of this session.
About 36 Bills are expected to be presented to the House within this meeting.
These Bills include the Affirmative Action Bill, 2020, the Criminal Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2020, the National Ambulance Service (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2020. Eighteen Bills are currently at the Committee level and expected to be worked on during this meeting.
There have been concerns about Parliament’s resumption amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
There have been various suggestions as to how the House should operate and have its sittings to prevent a possible spread of COVID-19.
In a bid to observe social distancing protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu says some members may have to sit at the public gallery during proceedings.
He said in an earlier Citi Newsinterview that, “we’ve also stopped the public from visiting to observe proceedings. That space is free and as part of discussions, we are thinking that perhaps if members come in their numbers, we may ask some of them to relocate upstairs, to populate what otherwise should serve as the public gallery.”
Akandoh’s suggestions
The Ranking Member on Parliament’s Health Committee, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh in an interview last week also made some proposals that the House should sit in batches or convene intermittently to protect legislators from the virus.
“They should call us to come and deal with specific issues and then go back. By now every Member of Parliament should have been tested. We travel more than anybody in this country. It should not be as though we are superhuman beings. I think if indeed we are going to be called to do a specific business, I do not have a problem. But sitting as though there is nothing at stake, I vehemently oppose that idea,” he said.
On Thursday, May 16 2020, Lynx entertainment signee, Kidi was reprimanded on live radio for appearing late for an interview on an Accra-based radio station.
The interview was subsequently cancelled because it was not the first time the artiste had appeared late for an interview on the same show.
This act has stirred up a debate among Ghanaians with some supporting the radio presenter for cancelling the interview whilst others have spoken against his approach. Insisting that he could have done it in a more refined way.
Award-winning rapper, Donzy has asserted that radio presenters are selective when it comes to artistes and believes that Sarkodie and Shatta Wale would have never been treated the way Kidi was disrespected should they have appeared late to the same interview.
Speaking in an interview on Happy 98.9 FM’s ‘Showbiz Xtra’ with Doctar Cann, the musician said, “If it was Shatta Wale or Sarkodie, that wouldn’t have happened to them. Even if the presenter had 5 minutes of their time, he would have been happy because of their mileage.”
According to him, not only do artistes sometimes appear on interviews late, but even radio hosts themselves also do keep artistes waiting and do not start interviews on time. Donzy revealed that he has gone for interviews which did not start on time on numerous occasions. “So if I also go for interviews early and they don’t start on time, should I also leave?” he asked.
He acknowledged that the relationship between artistes and entertainment show hosts has a positive correlation between both parties depending on each other and if ‘the Kidi situation’ or worse happens, it can be sorted out off air.
The ‘Club’ hitmaker reiterated, “I have never heard an artiste fight a presenter for wasting his time ever”. He noted that industry players must be there for each other and that such happenings are not healthy for the already fragile industry.
Donzy is out with a new single titled ‘Odehyie’ featuring ‘Nothing I Get’ hitmaker, Fameye.
The presidential advisor on health, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare says Ghana and the Electoral Commission should be able to compile a new voters’ register while observing measures to control the spread COVID-19.
According to the health expert, people are queuing at the banks and going about their everyday business so it should also be possible for the EC to adhere to the protocols while they prepare and get the country or electorates ready for December 2020 polls.
“People have been going to the bank to withdraw money; it’s the same method. You control the crowd, and in Ghana, if you want to control the crowd it’s very simple,” he said on UTV’s ‘Critical Issues’ on Saturday, May 16.
“life should go on . . . corona will come, corona will go; there are some countries who have had their elections. If you have the will to do a credible transparent election, you can do it,” he added.
Pre-Tertiary Educational Unions Teacher Unions in Ghana want schools to remain closed because of the threat of COVID-19 even if the ban on public gatherings is not extended by the President.
In a letter addressed to the Director-General of Ghana Education Service, Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, the unions said they “would not ascribe to the re-opening of the schools, should the President of the Republic decide not to extend the 31st May 2020 deadline and order the re-opening of the schools.”
The unions represented the letter comprised of the Teachers and Education Workers Union, the Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana.
“The spread [of the virus in Ghana is still very exponential, and given the fact that our [Ghanaian] schools could still be incubation centres of the pandemic, and given the unlimited social interactions and movements which take place there,” they warned.
They indicated that measures to prevent the spread of the virus would be difficult to adhere to in Ghana’s schools.
“The class sizes and dormitory population are still large, thus not making the observation of social distancing possible.”
The unions further explained that “considering the age and exuberance of our students one cannot be sure that they [students] will adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocol hence the fear that the disease may spread in the schools.”
Among the other challenges that the union stated that need to be addressed before reopening include the non-availability of potable water, face/nose masks, alcohol-based sanitiser and soap to help teachers and students adhere to prescribed protocols.
Controversial Prophet, Nigel Gaisie who is the General Overseer of Prophetic Hill Chapel claims he had a vision when his colleague ‘Angel’ Daniel Obinim was in heaven.
According to him, he didn’t see most of the sophisticated Pastors who are believed to be good people just because they speak the impeccable English language.
The Prophet made this known in a video currently circulating on various social media platforms and sighted by MyNewsGh.com.
He said although he does not agree to some of the things Obinim does in his Church, he is loved by God and will make it to heaven irrespective of how he is perceived by those who despise him.
Nigel Gaisie advised his congregation to desist from being Judgemental about people because we may not tell who will make it on the final day.
“Good English speaking Preachers I didn’t see most of them in heave. I saw this man, controversial man, I saw him in heaven. Amen. Let’s not judge. I saw Bishop Obinim in heaven. Listen, I’m against him giving lotto number,” he said in the video being circulated.
Angel Daniel Obinim is currently going through turmoil as he is been haunted by maverick Lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong for some ill deeds he did in the past.
Reports suggest that Police have been issued an arrest warrant to arrest him but the Angel is currently sick and will be arrested when he recovers from the sickness.
